Absolutely, Robert. You will find some "fans" who will whine and wail and say it is all over, but they are just fair-weather fans who really don't care about Jeff and the 24 team.

It ain't over till it is numerically over and that ain't gonna happen. :)

I agree, Team 24 can still make the chase and win this thing!

Yes! As long as they continue to fight for the wins and don't start doubting themselves. Jeff will always be my #1 driver.

I will always be behind the 24, and Jeff Gordon, just sad that this season has gone so wrong.

As long as the 24 team continues to battle, as they did yesterday,I sincerely believe Jeff will make the Chase. I continue to be impressed with Jeff's tenacity of never giving up. Misfortune for the 24 began the moment the race began. I can only imagine how frustrating and upsetting that had to have been for Jeff. Yet he drove his heart out in order to finish as best he could. Believe me, that requires an incredible degree of mental toughness. I would have been ready to park the car once I went 2 laps down. I'm not sure Jeff can get into the top ten. But I'm sure not going to count him out. I do believe he is going to get to 11th or 12th in points and have enough wins to secure a spot in the Chase. I just hope that he has no mercy or pity for anyone from here on out. Drive em' clean, but drive them hard -- the old school way.

It may seem that some are not true Gordon fans and only like it when he is winning, that may be for some. In reality it's due to disappointment, no one wants to see Jeff Gordon do badly at a race. I know that as bad as we all feel about what has been going on with the 24 we will all be right infront of our tv''s this weekend and cheering on Jeff Gordon and team 24. Patty

He needs wins. That is the only way in my opinion. He is too far behind. But, I never give up, so I hope he proves me wrong. LOL

Jeff is 57 points out of 10th in 17th, last year after Richmond he was 35 points out of 10th. Brad K was 96 points out of 10th and made the chase. Jeff certainly can make the chase, but he has to go on a run of top 5's and 10's and get a couple of wins.
