Was talking to a friend today and we started talking about crazy weird gifts we have received over the years. You know the gift we find ourselves regifting it or using it for a gag gift. The gifts you look at once and then again hoping that the gifter doesn't see your bewilderment,. You struggle to get out the words, thank you. Thoughts running through your head, like, what the heck? And wondering why you! Then thinking "but I bought them something really nice". At last trying to get the receipt from them, you know just in case it wasn't the right color or size, or etc. Forgetting the gift in the trunk of the car, and its still there in the summer and you move it over to fit plants in the trunk.

There was this some appliance called something like, the potato twizzler. It spun a potato and cut spirals. Yep, used it for a week, ate some unhealthy fried potato curly things, just found it the other day after about 30 years, might make some for Larry, just to see if he remembers! Then throw it away. Trying to think if this was from Ronco!

Don't throw it away it is vintage and collectors look for unusual items (or almost vintage). They make great conversation pieces when out on display

Really? The old potatoes spiral cutter, it was a plastic cylinder, you threw a potato in and a spiral potato came out. Really? Vintage, are you sure? If I put this out for display people would consider me a bit daft. Now the guillotine looking thing called a Kraut cutter that hubby brought from the farm, now that's vintage but very dangerous! My potato thing was made by Ronco!

You would be surprised, it's over 30 years old so yah pretty close to vintage but not antique. Google it on eBay see if any are posted for sale just to get and idea of what people are asking for, if it's a couple of bucks keep it it. You won't get rich but what the heck

I never have received a worst Christmas gift or even a weird one. The gifts I've gotten when we played White Elephant at parties were even pretty or useful. The gifts I have received from family and friends always reflected their love and thoughtfulness. I am blessed!

It wasn't the gift- it was the packaging. My college roommate (and best friend) put my gift in a Kotex box.
