Yeah! It's finally February, got up early to ride with Larry to pick up the beer feed for the cattle, it is 8 below zero..... it is really cold, haven't been this cold for a couple years. Global warming comes and goes.
The beer in the feed just might be keeping them warm, who knows, just thought of the cows , sorry.
Carol made it to Vegas, glad she's okay, wish I was in Vegas. :( is there really a safe place in the US, stay north cold, go south tornados, go west earthhquakes, go east hurricanes, I guess I am lucky to be where I am.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS! For us with January birthdays just thank God that month's over. :D

Robert let me know about his secret oreo recipe, I will have it on the let's talk site.. patty

Glad its Feb and our weather is looking better for now. Finally normal temps in the high 30's and maybe even low 40's for a bit. Amazing how great 40 feels when you just had a month of mostly days 15-24 and nights from 0-10. Sorry there are others now having to deal with the cold hope it warms up soon for you.

Glad it is warming up for you. I am so glad to be in Las Vegas and it is 70F today. :) Just a couple more weeks and your worst weather will be past, Deb. I just hope we don't have a heat wave during race week at Las Vegas!

It has been a lovely day in Las Vegas. I didn't accomplish a thing, just sat here and enjoyed it. There are a couple of things that must be done before dark so time to get moving. Ugh.:P

My sisters arrive tomorrow and life will be busy busy busy! Hope we get to see and do a lot. We all love to take pictures so we will be out and about seeing what we can photograph.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful first day of February!

Deb, hope your weather keeps on improving....spring will be here soon.

Carol, enjoy Vegas with your sisters. Don't get into too much trouble. Take lots of pictures. Post some if you get a chance.

I am sick of this Iowa winter. Don't like winter anyway, but it is worse here. MIL made a comment today that moving here was a mistake. Wonder where we can move her to now? Nobody else wants her.

Thanks, Paula! We'll have a great time just being together. I hope we get to drive up to Zion for a day trip. (This will not preclude my trying to meet up with Deb at Zion next month before the race!) I might convince them they want to take a day trip on the bus to the Grand Canyon. My nephew and I did that once and had a great time. Best thing was that neither of us had to worry about driving.

Hate it that you are so miserable, Dorothy! Sorry your MIL has burned all her bridges. Just a few more weeks and Spring will be here and it will be at least warmer than now.

I watch Gold Rush on the Discovery Channel. Does anyone else watch? Tickled pink that Parker Schnaubel finally found some gold. He and his family seem like really nice people. 135 ounces so far this season. I hope he gets his 300 ounces.

Thanks Carol and Paula I'm really glad it has warmed up and yes spring is just around the corner or I hope it is ;).

Have a great time with your Sisters Carol. I have looked in to the Day bus tours from Vegas to the Grand Canyon think that would be fun to do some year. My foster Indian sister used to work at the Sky walk on the way to the Canyon which some of the buses also visit. I was going to visit her but now she is teaching cooking (guess its called Culinary arts now) on the Navajo reservation near Monument Valley so hope maybe a visit there someday before she isn't there anymore.

Have only watched Gold rush one time so don't know the characters.

Yes I watch it all the time, and moonshiners also. Moonshine was a way of life here in the mountains. ;)

We were so spoiled with our Iowa winters being so nice, ugh! Today got to 20 degrees above zero, celebrate come on! Cats are dancing and mating, (tis their season) ! But now it seems to snow as easy as sneezing. Really Deb, blow really hard maybe we will get past this..... hahaha! You got us up to 20 now maybe 30 would be good. Oh well this too will pass! Oh happy day! Just Patty

Add me to the list of those who've grown weary of the cold. But each day gets us one day closer to spring.

Aiden's team finished the season a perfect 8-0. Us coaches are beyond thrilled by this. We are buying the boys special t-shirts to commemorate the occasion.

Aiden is number 52. Here is a video of one of his best plays from yesterday: https://www.youtube....be_gdata_player
